The One Who Walks Through Shadows: How the Immortal Learned to Love Again

The year is 2079, Everything around me has been burnt to an absolute crisp. Not in the literal way that you're probably thinking, but, in a chemical way. I've seen skin fall off the muscle, which would then fall off the bone, melted like a candle. I honestly don't know what point there is to surviving in a world that just won't even hold life without the protections that I have strapped to my body. But I'm gonna keep going, there has to be something left. There has to be even in this dead world, just a tear of beauty. If there isn't then, who knows? Maybe this really is the end, even for me.

Being alone on the road for this long... You don't even feel human. You forget what it's like to bear your emotions, to even the most innocuous stranger. Now, I could blame how I feel about that on my perception of the world but really that's not it. I want to feel human, but I also want to feel safe, and... it's exhausting. It's so exhausting. To just over and over have to second guess yourself because of these decisions. I saw the eyes of God in my mistakes, and he said I'm on my own. I need to figure this out. I need to fix this. If it just means being human again, for only a little...

This album grew alongside me over these recent months. At first, I wasn't sure what to do because I was in a massive place of change in my life regarding who I was and moving past some long-held internal battles. It slowly kept developing, though, and I realized that I've been holding myself back musically, just like how I hold back in real life. Eventually, this album sprawled into what I feel is the best arrangement of music I have ever made, a post-rock opera! I feel like a massive weight has been taken off my shoulders and I feel even with all of the other dark things in my mind, I can see something beautiful to strive for.

I have wanted to make an album like this for most of my life, and I am so proud of what I've made here. I always grew up loving massive concept albums, whether they be Godspeed You! Black Emperor's beautifully dark crawling landscapes, or the theatrical pompous of Black Veil Brides's 'Wretched and Divine.' I hope you all enjoy "The One Who Walks Through Shadows: How The Immortal Learned To Love Again" and what the next chapter of the TOWWTS series could potentially be!
